The Lead Analyst - Internal Controls is responsible for maintaining internal controls for accounting and financial operations within the Global Inventory COE through risk assessment, control activities and continuous monitoring to ensure compliance with corporate finance polices, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. The Lead Analyst - Internal Controls will support Global Inventory COE leadership with all compliance and audit support activities as well as assist the process team with critical day-to-day activities as required.

What you will do :

  • Lead analyst supporting U.S. deployed divisions on the COE model, working in close collaboration with Internal Controls manager in Europe.
  • Ensure all company finance policies are adhered to within the COE. Responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley and all other applicable financial laws and regulations, and implement corrective actions
  • Work with Global Inventory COE teammates as an “internal controls coach and business partner” to embed controls throughout the organization and ensure process owners deliver on improvement action plans
  • Conducts audits and ongoing reviews of COE controls, operating procedures, and compliance with finance policies
  • Compiles and issues reports, detailing conclusions and provides recommendations for improvements
  • Serves as team liaison to internal and external audit activities including scoping, planning, execution, reporting, and follow-up
  • Builds positive relationships within COE as well as business partners in division finance, technical accounting, corporate finance, and audit to effectively deliver compliance solutions
  • Assist in assessing systems and security risks and ensure that IT operations impacting accounting systems comply with corporate standards and regulatory requirements
  • Review process documentation and assist the leadership team to migrate inventory processes into the new COE with an eye on controls, IPE, and compliance.
  • Support SAP system configuration, testing, and wave deployments on behalf of the Inventory COE
  • Ensure all inventory reports are accurate, complete, and reconcile to the General Ledger and are supported by correct IPE to confirm completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain balance sheet accounts associated with the Inventory COE to include gross and net accounts and complete balance sheet reconciliations in accordance Stryker policies
  • Calculate, reconcile, and analyze Inventory and Inventory reserves for period close in accordance with GAAP
  • As needed, perform ad-hoc analysis and perform special projects for Senior Leadership

Education & special trainings :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Intermediate level: PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros, charts, formulas, etc.)
  • English level C1
  • Systems knowledge is a plus (Oracle, JDE, SAP, Hyperion)

Qualifications & experience :

  • 5+ years’ experience in Accounting, or Finance (must have)
  • Would be considered a plus if 2+ years in inventory or supply chain or Inventory / Manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX is a plus
  • Fluency in English required (C1)
