About the position : Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support and coaching to all members of the Business Unit Site.

Essential Functions

  • Assure the compliance of EHS standards, programs, plans and goals along the Business Unit Site.
  • Represent Business Unit Site in the TE EHS Regional Council (currently 1 hour conference call every month and meeting 1-2 times per year).
  • Ensure complete and timely submittal of required EHS Reports from the Business Unite Site.
  • Regularly review measurements of EHS performance, serious incidents, exceedances NOVs etc. and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor audit findings, closure rates, follow-up, look for common issues across Areas / Departments, etc.
  • Periodically visit the Plant Floor in order to review of Site conditions and management review of EHS issues.
  • Regularly communicate with and facilitate communication among plant personnel to share problems and solutions and identify issues.
  • Regularly communicate with plant unit management on performance, challenges and opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities or necessary education for position development

  • Key technical experience in ergonomics, machine guarding, open blade, control of hazardous energy, waste water, waste management and chemical management, in addition to standard EHS competency.
  • Strong commitment to improving safety performance, EHS compliance, environmental improvements and EHS efficiency.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize needs, communicate to EH&S Manager and Operations Manager and ensure implementation of needed actions.
  • Ability to drive activity and improvement in the Business Unit Site.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Basic knowledge of GLOBAL environmental, occupational, health and safety, and worker’s compensation laws, rules, and regulations is highly desirable, or a willingness to learn other relevant regulatory frameworks is essential.
  • Must have demonstrative technical competency and managerial and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels of management.
  • Must have excellent organizational and cross functional skills, as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, and be able to make independent, informed and prioritized decisions.

Education and Experience required for the position

  • Engineering degree on Environmental, Health and Safety
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional manufacturing plant level experience.

Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge in problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Full knowledge of own area of responsibility.
  • Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
  • Checks problems and performs basic research/analysis to derive a solution.
