What you will do

In this role, you will provide leadership and direction to Global Inventory COE for the Accounting Technical world for all other reserve and other inventory accounting processes and establish close relationships with other sub departments, other Global Inventory COE leaders and finance leaders to direct, coordinate, and administer a plan for accounting and managing all other inventory related topics. You will provide support to the Director of Global Inventory COE Accounting, for guiding the team and all related stakeholders commercially and GQO and any further possible tasks to be transitioned to our teams. You will support in technical accounting, internal control, transitions, implementations and month end activities, including Journal Entries and Blackline. You will manage direct reports as well.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

  • Month end:
  • Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the Technical Accounting for other reserves regardless of system or region (transitioned to us) in order to have the books closed on time.
  • Responsible for monthly closing with Divisional Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Global Finance Service Centers (GFS) teams
  • Responsible for ensuring that Accounting of reserves is correctly valued and controlled and all relevant Corporate Policies are applied
  • Responsible for review and/or prepare the more complex month end journal entries, review and approve those journals completed by the team members
  • Responsible for supporting all compliance related activities based on the daily tasks within Technical Accounting for the sub inventory part.
  • Communication/relationships:
  • Responsible for effectively communicating relevant information to all stakeholders
  • Proactively communicate changes in business trends, local business decisions or other issues that may have a financial impact. - Support the planning process with the internal Inventory COE team for the divisions on preparing forecast models, consolidations, and coordination of projection calls.
  • Management skills:
  • Responsible for Other Global Inventory Technical Accounting team by setting direction, developing talent and empower to assist in their development inventory content wise
  • Build, manage and develop team of accounting professionals, including technical accounting skills, Excel or any other tools, systems, setting of annual objectives and completion of the team annual reviews and regular 1:1 with the teams across the globe with direct reports as well with indirect reports. - Manager will be support for Internal and External Audits (mainly SOX related)
  • Ensure together with the Internal Control Manager, that all defined controls Inventory related are updated, performed, reviewed, documented and executed as accurately and timely as possible in close collaboration with the Internal Control team members within Global Inventory COE, our Inventory compliance team and the Internal Control Department
  • Ensure all Inventory reports generated by ERP systems are accurate, complete, and reconcile to the General Ledger (IPE proof). - Initiate and drive process improvements
  • Participate in inventory project related items and actively deliver input, such as, further integrations, transitions, and system implementations
  • Responsible for all ad-hoc questions related to inventory

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent is required (Master’s preferred)
  • Fluent in English
  • Other languages such as Spanish/Polish/Dutch are nice to have
  • CPA qualification preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge & understanding of US GAAP is required

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in a complex accounting functions in global organizations
  • Experience navigating and influencing in a matrix organization or working in a COE is required
  • Experience with complex and detailed inventory accounting is required
  • Should have the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and yet able to resolve day to day issues if required
  • Oracle/SAP/MFG/JDE experience is a nice to have.

**Compet
