How will you make an impact? As a Senior Sourcing Specialist III you will be a member of the chemicals category management team. Strategy development, supporting key projects and sourcing of critical raw materials for the ThermoFisher Corporate enterprise. Maximising financial opportunities with a focus on security of supply to reduce risk to the divisions. Participates in key business negotiations and in support of commodity teams to implement proactive procurement philosophies across various groups and divisions. Critical issue management for business continuity ensures our license to operate.

What will you do? A history of strong project management and relationship building skills are crucial to this position. You will be responsible for using spend analytics, analyzing trends, external and internal key performance metrics, and proposing process improvements. Generation and management of key reports, metrics, and projects. This is a highly collaborative position where agility and responsiveness to the needs of internal and external (suppliers) customers is essential.

Responsibilities : Participate in AOP process to ensure robust multi-year pipeline of projects and ownership for implementation, including resource needs and drive to completion.

Strategically manage suppliers via formal Supplier business reviews and using SRM tools for relationship growth and improvement.

Identify other opportunities with existing supply base that local procurement teams can execute on, for example, quick wins investment.

Other areas of ownership -

  • Manage supplier relationships, at all times monitoring supplier performance, performance against metrics and to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Manage supplier relationships, looking for new innovative solutions and products to cement supply chain flexibility and ensuring risk mitigation.
  • Support New Product Introduction activities by sourcing raw material needs and focus to dual source.
  • Support continuous improvement using the Practical Process Improvement Tools and resources and operational excellence processes.
  • Complete special projects as assigned and provide leadership support as required.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications :

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Life Sciences (Biology/Engineering) Finance or related field :

  • 2-5 years experience in procurement/sourcing

  • Essential previous experience in procurement and supply chain.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and strategic supplier management required.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems preferred.

  • Ability to manage project execution of cost savings, sourcing and inventory management programmes.

  • Demonstrated negotiating experience and results required.

  • ISO or equivalent system and change control (FDA, cGMP) awareness required.

  • Computer proficiency required in Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, and Word.

  • Demonstrated agility to work in a very fast paced dynamic environment, and the ability to flex with changing demands.
