Responsibilities :

  • Planning and scheduling production materials.
  • Order placement of production materials, services and equipment.
  • Management of open orders to expedite / push out as production schedule requires.
  • Price negotiations.
  • Supplier Development.
  • Assist with inventory control and reduction plans for FGI and Raw Materials.
  • Member of the new product development team representing Purchasing.
  • Assist inventory control personnel to resolve inventory conflicts / discrepancies.
  • Initiate and maintain planning parameters (safety stock, lead-times etc.) in ERP system.
  • Inter-company communications on material status as required.
  • Acts as key contact for vendors.
  • Purchases office supplies.
  • Reviews material requirements and orders as needed.
  • Works with planner on unforeseen requirements.
  • Assists Engineering Department to procure materials not yet required by production.
  • Assists Maintenance, Tooling as well as Production Department in purchasing auxiliary equipment, shop supplies, and other items as required.

Qualifications :

  • Associates degree in Business or equivalent experience directly related to the job function.
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 or more years' experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or another related field.
  • Expertise in managing supplier contracts with key suppliers.
  • Experience in working on technical products with engineering and new product development teams.
  • Experience with purchasing Finished Good products from 3 rd party OEM suppliers.
  • Experience with manufacturing processing methods, FDA and ISO quality procedures machine shops, injection molding processes, electronics, sterile disposable medical or biological products.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP and pull material flow systems. SAP is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to communicate with all levels of Associates.
  • Must be a strong team player and have strong influencing skills with the ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
  • Accurate and attention to detail.
  • Ability to assist and support others.
