Associate buyer - Purchasing

Position Summary : The roles purpose is to execute either finished goods or materials and components call offs within the production or buying centre location. The role will interface daily with suppliers in ensuring that we have procured the right amount of finished goods or materials from the supplier and will mitigate and adjust requirements based on weekly planning reviews from supply planning. The role will work alongside Supply Planners, production scheduling and raw material planners in the organization. The role has no direct people responsibility.

What you will do :

  • Responsible for the maintenance of master data set up in the transactional systems, including supplier lead time, supplier details, product details and replenishment methodology (MOQS)
  • Responsible for the communication of forecast requirements to the supply base either for finished goods or for components and materials.
  • Responsible for cutting work orders and ensuring all POs are placed accordingly to the rules as agreed with the Account Lead
  • Responsible for the execution and communication of safety stock levels required for raw materials/finished goods to the supply base.
  • Responsible for the review of data from the supplier in terms of accuracy and to ensure the information is in support of the supplier agreement and complies with what is in the Stryker system of record.
  • Responsible for acting as the first line of contact from suppliers in informing of any adjustments to daily or weekly requirements based on the latest supply net requirements.
  • Responsible for reporting the supplier performance based on standard metrics, i.e. preparing and monitoring supplier scorecards
  • Responsible for communication of phase out or phase in of new finished goods or raw materials into the organization and tracking to ensure that timing has been agreed and is being executed to the agreement
  • Responsible for preparing weekly status reports for the demand and supply execution process
  • KPIs for the role will be Ontime and in full delivery, Material lead time compliancy to targets set, ensuring suppliers meet lead time targets and highlighting to planning and sourcing deviations, PPV Targets, past due invoices and PO’s

What you need :

  • Degree level in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain management
  • Languages at least English but preferably a second language depending on global location
  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar buying /production scheduling role
  • Entry level Graduate may also be considered for role
  • IT Planning system experience to include use of SAP as a minimum requirement or equivalent ERP systems
  • Previous experience in supplier relationship management
