Indirect Tax Analyst

Job Description : Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Collecting exemption certificates and validating according to states requirements
• Communicating with customer when additional information or proper document is needed
• Monitor expiring, expired, and invalid exemption certificates and sending request to customer for valid certificate.
• Requesting sales tax debits or credits as needed
• Review the dispute workflow within SAP
• Run new customer report daily and send appropriate communication to customer
• Run and review Temporary Exemption report daily and make necessary changes
• Daily review of Tax Auditors inbox and respond to requests
• Research within SAP
• Communicating with Customer Service Reps and other 3M colleagues

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Minimum two (2) years Sales Tax experience in a corporation, state agency, accounting firm, or law firm (internship/co-op experience applies)
• Knowledge of US sales tax law for all 50 states
• Knowledge of drop-shipments rules and tax documentation for each state

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, SAP or equivalent ERP system
• Experience with CertCapture
• Experience with OneSource Tax Determination
