Fist Bump acquires, renovates, and manages rental properties in Austin, TX. We do short-term vacation rentals (e.g. Airbnb, VRBO), medium-term corporate housing, and traditional long-term leases.

About the Role

It’s your job to make customers happy and help keep the business running smoothly.

  • Half of your time will be spent on customer success._
  • Half of your time will be spent on general business support._

You’ll help schedule our cleaning and maintenance crews, market our properties online, complete research projects as needed, and generally support business operations.

Examples of your responsibilities include:

  • Reading and responding to guest inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Handing reservation modifications and rate negotiations.
  • Resolving guest issues in coordination with our cleaning and maintenance crews.
  • Managing our cleaning and maintenance schedules.

Job Requirements

  • You have a B2 or better English level in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • You have a stable internet connection and a quiet work environment suitable for VoIP conversations.
  • Your computer works well and you are very comfortable using it for business purposes.
  • We prefer that you have a smart phone running Android or iOS, but that’s not required.
  • We prefer if you’ve had customer service or hospitality experience, but that’s not required.

  • You are a humble, genuine, and kind person who listens to feedback and wants to do better.
  • You are motivated and independent, but can also follow instructions and pay attention to the details.

Things to Consider

Not every job is a good fit for every person. Here are some things to consider about this role:

  • We’re a small team and you’ll be working remote. You’ll always find support when you need it, but we expect you to work well independently and be able to figure things out.
  • Every once in a while you’re going to be dealing with a guest who is frustrated and unhappy. You need to stay kind even when they aren’t and not let their bad mood get to you.
  • You’re going to be asked to do work that’s outside this job description. We can’t predict what problems will come up and count on every team member to work together to help solve them.
  • We’re going to ask you to learn and try new things. You have to be comfortable with trial and error, and be resilient to mistakes and temporary failure. We’re OK with rolling with the punches; you should be too.

Logistics

We’re hiring multiple people for this position because we need coverage from 9a to 10p, US Central Time, every day of the week.
